Food Industry Executive and Leadership Development Programs

The Food Industry Management Program provides outstanding programs for executives and managers in the food industry.

Annual Open-Enrollment Programs

  • Cornell Food Executive Program: Prepares rising executives for senior-level responsibilities. Among its alumni are CEOs and presidents of food retailers and CPG companies.

  • National Association of Convenience Stores Executive Leadership Program: Assists convenience store executives in attaining leadership skills needed to successfully respond to challenges in a changing business environment. Sponsored by the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS).

  • National Grocers Association Executive Leadership Program: Assists executives from independent supermarkets in attaining leadership skills needed to successfully respond to challenges in a changing business environment. Sponsored by the National Grocers Association (NGA).

  • United Fresh Produce Executive Development Program: Assists executives from the produce industry in attaining leadership skills needed to successfully respond to challenges in a changing business environment. Sponsored by the United Fresh Produce Association.

  • Foundational Excellence: Intended for junior industry executives with less than 5 years' experience, this program provides a one-day overview of the structure and operations of the produce industry, helping participants excel in their current and near-future jobs.

International Programs

FIMP also provides a world of knowledge and experience to international audiences with company-specific or open-enrollment programs. Programs have been conducted in Asia, Canada, Europe, and South America.

  • Cornell-in-India and Sathguru: Prepares Indian executives for senior-level responsibilities, partnering with Sathguru, one of India’s leading management consultants.

  • New Supermarket Association of Japan Food Executive Program: Targets executives from independent supermarkets and provides leadership development seminars and evaluations.

Customized Programs

In addition to open-enrollment programs, FIMP also conducts customized programs for individual companies. These range from one-day to weeklong programs, depending on the needs of each organization. These programs can take place on Cornell University's campus or at sites selected by the client company. Program content may range from operational functions to strategy and leadership.
